I’m Rozanne Myburgh, an arts therapist, arts therapies lecturer, and community practitioner deeply passionate about the healing power of the creative arts. With a Master’s in Drama Therapy (cum laude) from the University of the Witwatersrand, I have spent the last decade working in trauma-informed care, focusing on adolescents and the professionals who support them.
Currently, I serve as the Managing Director and arts therapist at Lefika La Phodiso, South Africa’s first community art counselling centre. I also lecture at the University of Johannesburg, and was appointed to the Expert Group on Adolescent Well-being Investment Case in the South African Presidency in 2024. My therapeutic approach blends creative modalities with clinical depth, informed by training in Expressive Movement, Circle of Security Parenting, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Whether I’m facilitating a community project, mentoring interns, or supervising practitioners, I bring care, integrity, and creativity to every space I hold.
“Arts therapies create a space where words are not the only language. In the presence of paint, movement, or story, people often discover truths they didn’t know they were ready to speak. That’s where healing begins.”
— Rozanne Myburgh, Arts Therapist
